The particularity of this tournament was the fact that the Roma and other socially disadvantaged children newly-recruited during the course of the \u201cCricket for Vulnerable Populations\u201d project were able to play side-by-side with their more experienced peers, including those who have already been capped for the Serbian national team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">Three 6-a-side teams participated, for this event named as Tigers, White Lions and Pumas. Each team had at least two new recruits and one girl.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">Tigers: Nemanja Petrovi\u0107 (c), Stefan Petrovi\u0107, Du\u0161an Stani\u0107, Irena Veljkovi\u0107, Mihailo Vu\u010deti\u0107, David Selimi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">White Lions: Matija \u0160arenac (c), Nemanja Zimonji\u0107, Denis Bekte\u0161i, Lazar Vasilijevi\u0107, Dehran Bekte\u0161i, Tijana Jeli\u0107.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">Pumas: Vuka\u0161in Zimonji\u0107 (c), Haslan Kamberi, Luka Deni\u0107, Rahman Ademi, Sofija Gole i Stefan \u0106usti\u0107.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">The volunteers were two high-school students who have during the course of the Project gained basic cricket coaching knowledge \u2013 Jovan Reb and Oliver Pestelek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">Each team played two matches and the winner of the tournament had to be decided according to the net run rate, due to the fact that each team won one and lost one match.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Indoor3.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Indoor1.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_3114.jpg\" width=\"639\" height=\"479\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">At the end, Tigers won gold, White Lions silver, and Pumas bronze medal. The award for the best batsman went to Mihailo Vu\u010deti\u0107, and the best bowler was Vuka\u0161in Zimonji\u0107, who took three wickets in one over. The best emerging player was Rahman Ademi, and the best female player award went to Sofija Gole.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Indoor5.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Indoor4.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">The Roma and other children recruited in the last month have thus been integrated in the existing youth teams in Belgrade, and will continue free cricket practice in three locations in Belgrade \u2013 Padinska Skela, Novi Beograd\/Ledine, and Stari Grad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">The project of German Development Cooperation \u201cCricket for Vulnerable Populations&#8221; that is implemented the Serbian Cricket Federation (SCF) and the\u00a0Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmBH\u2013\u00a0GIZ aims to contribute to the integration of children from vulnerable groups through sport. Specifically, through a number of cricket sessions, Roma and other socially vulnerable children will be integrated into existing youth cricket sides and the regular activities of the SCF. The project is in line with the UN endorsed Sport for Development concept. The Project \u201cCricket for Vulnerable Populations\u201d is a pilot project with a duration of one month.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Training of Cricket for Development Trainers<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.serbiacricket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/logo-GIZ.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"98\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">A new measure of German Development Cooperation \u201cSports Activities for Potentials Development<a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a>\u201d, is implementing the activity \u201cCricket for Vulnerable Populations&#8221;. This activity is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmBH\u2013\u00a0GIZ in cooperation with the Serbian Cricket Federation (SCF) and aims to contribute to the integration of children from vulnerable groups through sport. Specifically, through a number of cricket sessions, Roma and other socially vulnerable children will be integrated into existing youth cricket sides and the regular activities of the SCF. The project is in line with the UN endorsed Sport for Development concept.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">By conducted Training of Trainers, organized on November 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Cricket Federation started project implementation. The goal of the Training was to prepare current and future cricket coaches to work with vulnerable populations, as well as to promote the application of the \u201cSport for Development\u201d concept. The training consisted of four lectures and a practical part. The lectures were delivered by prominent academics and practical experts, covering topics such as the Basics of Cricket (Vladimir Ninkovi\u0107 \u2013 general secretary of Serbian Cricket Federation and en ex-national cricket team captain), Team Work in Sports (Dimitris Daj\u010d, coach of the Serbian national Rugby League squad), Communication and Conflict Management (Slobodan Spasi\u0107, MSc, MBA \u2013 human resources and communications consultant) and Gender Balance and Equality (DrIsidoraJari\u0107 \u2013 associate professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy). The practical part was delivered by Serbia&#8217;s only ECB-L2 qualified coach, Bogdan Dugi\u0107, and it covered the basics of sports coaching, safety principles and coaching cricket skills to new players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">The attendees were both cricket coaches and volunteers who will be involved in the cricket practice sessions organized throughout the project; acting as assistant coaches and thus obtaining necessary experience for independently teaching cricket in their charitable organizations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp70215735msonormal\">The Project \u201cCricket for Vulnerable Populations\u201d is a pilot project with a duration of one month.
