The UK\u2019s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, the Lord\u2019s Taverners, has supported the Serbian Cricket Federation\u2019s initiatives with refugees and the local Roma population by donating a large consignment of equipment.<\/p>\n

The largest part of the donation will be distributed to refugee and migrant camps in Serbia, whereas the remainder will be given to local cricket clubs that promote cricket within the Roma population, including the Roma-ran Bodrog CC.<\/p>\n

According to Vladimir Ninkovi\u0107, the Serbian Cricket Federation\u2019s General Secretary, \u201cthe kit will be distributed to the refugees with the support of the State Commissariat for Refugees and Migrations, who are in charge of seventeen camps throughout Serbia. They will also be in charge of the kit once it reaches its final destination. We are also glad that we have received support for our promotional activities with the local population, particularly with ethnic Roma and other vulnerable groups with whom we work. Collaboration with such a well-known organization as the Lord’s Taverners is an excellent sign that our efforts in promoting cricket have been recognized.\u201c\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Lord\u2019s Taverners and the Serbian Cricket Federation, the latter will guarantee that the kit is used by the recipients, monitor the use of the equipment by the recipients and send a minimum of three case studies of individuals benefitting from the kit.<\/p>\n
