A few spectators had an opportunity to watch some good cricket during the last championship weekend this year.

Bogdan Dugic, the captain of Stari Grad in this match won the toss and decided to bat. The opening partnership of B.Dugic  (10)and Neskovic (20) stayed together for ten overs setting a solid base for the rest of the match. However, it was clever Van Rennen’s half century and Burton’s quick and powerful 49* that made most damage to Mirijevo bowlers. It should be stated however, that Mirijevo didn’t have the best of luck by three times dropping Van Rennen and Burton respectively.

However, the score of 183 was far beyond Mirijevo’s reach, particularly due to superb bowling by Rifat ul-Islam (4-9), with only Djokic and Henderson getting double figures. The final result: Stari Grad 183-6 (Burton 49*, Van Rennen 50, Neskovic 20) – Mirijevo 93 a.o. (Henderson 23, Djokic 11, Ul-Islam 4-9). Stari Grad won by 90 runs.
